Retirement Plan Audits

At Rizzo & DiGiacco, CPA’s we understand that it is more important than ever to offer competitive employee benefit packages to attract and retain the best employees.  We also understand that it can be very costly for a small business to incur the numerous fees associated with administering employee benefit plans.  One of the largest fees incurred is the annual audit of the benefit plan’s financial statements that is required for “Large Plans” (generally defined as plans with 100 or more eligible participants).

Employee benefit plan audits require specialized knowledge in order to ensure compliance with the numerous laws and regulations of the IRS, Department of Labor and ERISA.   Having spent the majority of our careers at the largest regional accounting firm in the area prior to founding Rizzo & DiGiacco, CPA’s, we have performed hundreds of employee benefit plan audits and possess this specialized knowledge.  However, due to our small size by design and our low overhead structure, we are able to perform these types of audits at a significant cost savings compared to the fees charged by the local regional accounting firms.  In fact, we have a number of clients that engage one of the local regional firms for their traditional financial statement audits, but utilize us to perform their employee benefit audits.  If you would like a quote on your company’s employee benefit plan audit to see first hand the potential savings, please contact Brian DiGiacco, CPA
